Thanks really helpful!

I had the same problem as some of the previous people where MagicISO TRIAL wouldn't burn anything over a certain amount of MB. So I downloaded a bunch of programs to try and convert the ISO and burn but it was a waste of time.

But decompressing the file with the orginal program MagicISO then using another program to burn the ISO was brilliant! thanks!!

Thank you Steven for the original, clear and precise instructions. Anyone who was confused by them either doesn't know how to interpret or follow instructions and should probably not use something as simple as a computer. As for those who were very excited about the "UFI" typo - take a breath, if you weren't sure about the context, move along to another post - this info was posted as a courtesy for crying out loud.

yes thank you...the universal image format was created by and for the asian company that markets MagicISO...its proprietary narure may or may not have been either in response to or collusion with such firms as nero, with its nrg format for example...now we are not talking about a new type of media ...the normal cd dvd medias were used...the only point was that if you made it with magic iso you have to use magic iso...even when they tried strengthen ing the encryption methodology however, the likes of Luigi Aurienna who created the amazing tool uif2iso, their daa protocol did not even address the schema he had already used for uif...thus in fact, with daa associated to daa2iso and uif associated to uif2iso...associated means to choose that program for that file extension...example .txt = notepad etc...the discimages as long as they are not corrupted which is the worst problem to begin with are easily altered into burnable iso formats...the two files can sdimply be placed into a uif folder...i actually put mine into the windows\system32 folder as %SYSTEM%/system32/uif and then simply right click your uif or daa file, and select one of them as the always open with program...an iso version is created in the exact same folder...at the moment i am actually looking up a direct extractor method which will circumvent mass loss due to corrupted uif / daa image degradation so that's how i tumbled my fingers into this...hope those will help...oh btw...once you have your iso, i suggest IMGBurn as the simplest effective interface to burn them, although if not trying to simply recover for others my default operatons are using virtual cd...daemontools lite version is also perfect and free.

These comments make me laugh out loud (to tears, tears of pity)
1. First off, it's UIF, not UFI.
2. Second, THERE'S NO NEED for getting MagicISO/Nero/PowerBurn/Daemon Tools or empty CD-R if you only wanted to install the software in that particular UIF file, somebody has mentioned in the middle, nobody seemed to pay attention to it.
You only need ONE step, that is ONE software, MagicDisc, which is free, to mount that UIF file into a virtual drive, and voila, it's all solved!!

try using UIF2ISO. it can decompress uif images to iso of any size then u can either load the imge on a virtual drive or burn using a burner. http://aluigi.org/mytoolz.htm#uif2iso

Thank you very much. I didn't know Magic ISO decompressed UIF files. I thought I would have to pay for it in order to burn the image, and lord knows I hate paying for software :-)

For everyone that's having trouble decompressing their UIF files...

First make sure it is a .uif file extension you're looking at with the letters in that exact order and nothing else.

When on MagicISO the Tools menu is on the top left hand side of the window. So make sure you're not trying to decompress by right-clicking the actual file you want to decompress, you must do it from the Tools menu.

Find the .uif file as the 'input' and MagicISO will sort out the 'output' so you don't need to fuss over that and then decompress. It does not matter what file size it is, if it is telling you it should be below 300mb you are doing something wrong so double check this checklist and the original instructions!!

And of course make sure you're not trying to use MagicISO to do anything other than DECOMPRESS in other words extracting or mounting etc. are not the same thing.

Yea you can convert any file. But burning anything above 300mb with the trial is impossible. But that image burn thing isnt that great, it doesnt tell you that your burning the ISO as a file and not as an image. so that bugging the hell out of me.

If anyone wants to run .uif on your local hard disk just decode .uif to .iso then use daemon tool to mount image and run it.

This really isn't a help if your file is over 300mb, since MagicISO's trial version won't save into an ISO from a UIF. aku, "size does matter" here. Anyone know where *that* software is for free download? I've already got PowerISO and Nero 6 Ultra, which can get all over the burning an ISO part. It's going from 3gigs of one UIF file into ISO that's roadblocking this thread...
